It breaks my heart that my family can’t put politics aside anymore. We used to be able to sit together, argue a little, laugh it off, and move on. Now it feels like opinions about Trump can burn a bridge that took a lifetime to build. I never imagined a world where my own brother’s family wouldn’t feel welcome in our home, not because of something personal, but because everyone is so dug in and angry over things none of us can control. It hurts in a way I can’t even explain — like losing people who are still alive. I miss the days when disagreements didn’t turn into walls between us. I’m not trying to win an argument; I’m just trying to get my family back together.
