It drives me crazy when there’s an accident on a city, state road, or the interstate and the police just stand around talking instead of doing the one thing every stuck driver is begging for move the — traffic.

Yes, take care of the injured first, absolutely, but once that’s handled, there’s no reason hundreds or thousands of people should sit trapped for an hour while officers cluster together like it’s a social break.

Most of us have our own emergencies, our own deadlines, our own lives happening beyond that highway shoulder. A little coordination — directing cars onto the shoulder, opening a lane, anything — would save people valuable time and prevent the ripple effect of frustration that spreads for miles. What infuriates people isn’t the accident — it’s the feeling that law enforcement has zero respect for anyone but themselves.

The new one‑driver garbage trucks are honestly a game‑changer. The driver never steps out — the robotic arm swoops in, grabs the can, lifts it high, dumps everything clean, and sets it back down perfectly off the road. It’s fast, efficient, and kind of fun to watch.

But when it rains? That’s when the magic glitches. Sometimes the arm doesn’t close the lid all the way, and by the time the storm passes, we’ve got a mini swimming pool sloshing around inside the can. Great tech, great speed… but a little lid‑closing accuracy would save us from the weekly rainwater workout.
